The Wedding Process:
A collaborative journey, start to finish.
Every celebration is its own unfolding story—rich with emotion, subtle details, and quiet in-between moments that matter just as much as the big ones. Whether it’s an intimate elopement on a remote ridge or a full weekend with friends and family, I approach each wedding with the eye of a documentarian and the heart of a collaborator.
Together, we’ll create something honest, cinematic, and deeply personal—images that feel like memories, not poses.
-
Every great story starts with a conversation. Once you reach out, I’ll respond promptly—usually within a day—to schedule a call. We’ll talk through what you’re envisioning, answer any questions, and make sure we’re the right fit to create something meaningful together.
-
To reserve your session or wedding date, a signed agreement and non-refundable retainer are required. From there, I’ll guide you through what to expect and how to prepare—so you feel confident, supported, and excited.
-
Whether it’s an engagement session or your wedding day, I’ll be right there with you—present, unobtrusive, and focused. My goal is always to create space for real moments to happen and to capture them with care and artistry.
-
After the shoot, I’ll begin the editing process—refining the imagery to reflect the tone, emotion, and timeless quality of the day. You’ll receive a curated gallery that tells your story honestly and artfully, with photographs you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Choosing a destination wedding photographer means choosing more than geography — it means choosing someone whose eye, energy, and storytelling style align with what your wedding actually feels like. As a filmmaker-turned-photographer, I approach each destination with fresh perspective, attention to light and landscape, and a deep focus on the emotional rhythm of your day. Whether your wedding is set on a windswept cliff, in the quiet woods, or in the heart of a city you both love — I’m there to capture it with intention, creativity, and care.
-
Absolutely. I'm based in Idaho, surrounded by mountains, open skies, and the kind of quiet beauty that inspires my work — but I travel across the U.S. and internationally. As an experienced National Geographic cinematographer and photographer, travel has long been part of how I see and tell stories. It’s one of my favorite parts of this work.
I typically arrive 2–3 days before your wedding to scout the area, adjust to the light and landscape, and prepare fully so I can document your day with presence and ease. Travel fees cover airfare, lodging, and transportation, and once we finalize the details, I’ll take care of everything — leaving you free to focus on what’s most important.
-
Yes! In addition to photography, I’m also a professional cinematographer with years of experience in both documentary, narrative and commercial filmmaking. If you’re interested in adding video coverage—whether it’s a highlight film, full ceremony, or something more tailored—just let me know. I offer custom packages that combine both stills and motion for a seamless, cinematic record of your day.

Video services are available as an add-on for an additional cost.
-
Absolutely — and I highly recommend them. Adventure sessions give us the freedom to explore your destination without the time pressures of a wedding timeline. Whether it’s hiking to a quiet overlook, riding horses through a golden field, or taking an early morning flight in a bush plane to chase the sunrise — these sessions let you experience your location together in a completely different way, while still dressed in the magic of your wedding day.
-
I believe in being calm, observant, and intentional. I’ll offer guidance when needed (especially during portraits), but for the most part, I want you to feel fully present—with each other and with your people. I’m there to capture the story as it unfolds, beautifully and honestly.
-
Most couples reach out 6 months before their wedding date, especially for peak seasons. That said, if your date is coming up sooner, don’t hesitate to reach out—if I’m available I just may take it on.
-
You’ll receive a private online gallery with high-resolution, edited images within 6–8 weeks of your wedding date. Engagement and portrait sessions are typically delivered within 2–3 weeks.
-
Yes! You’ll be able to order prints, fine art albums, and framed work directly through your gallery. I’m also happy to help guide you through the process if you want something truly custom.
-
Absolutely. I offer Polaroid, 35mm, medium format and large format film photography as an optional add-on for couples who love the timeless, tactile beauty of analog images. There’s something deeply special about film—its texture, its imperfections, the way it captures light—that digital just can’t fully replicate.
That said, if you love the aesthetic of film but want a more efficient and budget-friendly option, I can also shoot digitally and apply a carefully crafted post-production process that mirrors the look and feel of classic film stocks. It’s a great middle ground that maintains the visual character of film without the added costs or unpredictability of working with celluloid.
Let me know your vision—we’ll tailor it to fit.
